NHS Orthodontics:
NHS treatment is available at our Practice for children under 18 years and who meet the qualifying criteria. Orthodontic problems have to meet a level of severity for the NHS to be able to fund the treatment. For children being treated under the NHS there are no charges UNLESS a removable appliance is lost or damaged so badly that it cannot be repaired.

NHS replacement fees
For children being treated under the NHS there are no charges UNLESS a removable appliance is lost or damaged so badly that it cannot be repaired. In these cases a charge is applicable – £98 per replacement appliance.
After you have been discharged then Private fees will apply for lost or broken retainers.

NHS Charges from 2025-2026
You will pay one of the following charges below, unless exempt from NHS charges:
Band 1 course of treatment – £27.40
This covers an examination, diagnosis (including x-rays), advice on how to prevent future problems, a scale and polish if clinically needed, and preventative care such as the application of fluoride varnish or fissure sealant if appropriate.
Band 2 course of treatment – £75.30
This covers everything listed in Band 1 above, plus any further treatment such as fillings, root canal work or removal of teeth but not more complex items covered by Band 3.
Band 3 course of treatment – £326.70
This covers everything listed in Bands 1 and 2 above, plus crowns, dentures, bridges and other laboratory work.
