NHS
NHS treatment is available at our Practice for children under 18 years and who meet the qualifying criteria. Orthodontic problems have to meet a level of severity for the NHS to be able to fund the treatment. For children being treated under the NHS there are no charges UNLESS a removable appliance is lost or damaged so badly that it cannot be repaired. In these cases a charge is applicable – £95.70 per replacement appliance.
After you have been discharged then Private fees will apply for lost or broken retainers.
If you wish your child to be seen at our Practice for an orthodontic assessment under the NHS, please ask your general dental practitioner to refer them requesting our practice.
We currently have a waiting list for the initial NHS assessment appointment.
If the examination at the initial assessment appointment reveals that your child is not able to be offered treatment under the NHS, but you and your child are still keen to consider treatment, then you may wish to consider treatment under Private Contract. Your orthodontist will be able to discuss the private options available and our various payment plans.
Finally, if the initial assessment finds that your child is not quite ready for treatment we will arrange a review appointment for reassessment after a few months.
